Put a Barrier Between Your Team & Fire Danger
Fire baffles are an integral part of a comprehensive warehouse safety protocol. Apex fire baffle products are compliant with new NFPA fire safety codes and provide two key objectives --1. They contain heat in a small area to activate sprinklers faster, and 2. They help slow the spread of fire giving your team a chance to safely escape danger. An added bonus is that they keep the flue space obstruction free.
Advantages of Fire Baffles:
- Support compliance with fire codes
- Activate sprinklers faster
- Slow the spread of fire
- Give workers more time to evacuate
- Maintain an open flue space

Installing Fire Baffles with Pallet Racking
Apex fire baffles are custom fit to your application and do not interfere with your pallet racking storage capacity or system access. Your steel barriers can be installed vertically and or horizontally to satisfy fire safety regulations. Vertical baffles run parallel to the uprights to contain flames and slow spread to adjacent racking or systems. Horizontal baffles install between beams to localize fire to a smaller area.
Apex fire baffles are a cost-effective, low-maintenance way to enhance warehouse safety.
7 Steps to Warehouse Fire Safety
Safety-conscious pallet rack design and installation are big steps in the right direction, but ultimately the burden of warehouse safety lies with the building owner or designated representative. Here are 7 Effective Steps to Help Equip Your Team in Case of Fire:
- Assign a responsible individual(s) to monitor, inspect, maintain, and repair fire safety equipment.
- Conduct scheduled fire safety training including evacuation plans and active drills.
- Ensure ALL exits egress lanes, fire alarms, and fire extinguishing equipment is CLEARLY MARKED and accessible.
- Keep exits and escape routes obstacle free.
- Install and maintain emergency lighting.
- Confirm your fire safety/suppression products meet requirements for your inventory class --address changes if needed.
- Add fire baffles to your pallet racking system design or retrofit.
