Multi-Level Pick Modules | Apex Warehouse SystemsTaking the Warehouse Route Less Traveled: A Modern Pick Module Installation

The route less traveled… no, we’re not refreshing a beloved classic poem; we are highlighting an impressive new distribution center installation that represents the future of high-volume order fulfillment. The pillars of the design are two identical rack-supported, multi-level pick modules connected via a synchronized series of conveyors, creating a consolidated order-picking solution. This optimized design minimizes travel for your workers and your inventory, streamlining the entire process to maximize results! Centralized pick zones coordinate frequently picked inventory into one accessible and organized space, optimizing workflow and improving operational efficiency and accuracy.

Pick modules integrate tailored storage solutions (often pallet and carton storage racking and shelving) and usually integrate technology such as powered conveyors to enhance productivity and inventory control. This project, designed and installed for a leading medical supply company, is a terrific example of coordinating pick module elements into a well-tuned operation. Let’s explore this application.
